ISI’s Quality Systems

In 1997, ISI went through the auditing and review process to become Registered to ISO9002.  Today, we continue to maintain our registration, currently ISO9000:2000 using Preferred Registrar Group (PRG).  We have always viewed ISO not as a goal, but more of a tool to assist us in defining and improving our processes with a clear objective of servicing our customers.

In the late 1990s, the manufacturing Industry adopted ISO Guide 25 (now revised to ISO17025:2005) based on its focus on competency of the individual and the organization.  Today, most industrial sectors have either integrated or are preparing to integrate ISO17025 into the requirements for Calibration Service Providers.  ISI was Accredited by Laboratory Accreditation Bureau (LAB) in 2001.  Today, today we maintain our accreditation and continue to expand our Scope of Accreditation.

A few facts about ISI’s ISO based Quality Systems:

  • ISI has two External Audits Annually (LAB & PRG) for ISO compliance
  • ISI conducts over 30 Internal Audits Annually
  • ISI performs Annual Proficiency Test through NAPT
  • ISI performs annual GAP analysis to optimize training programs for our staff
  • ISI has clearly defined Uncertainty budgets and calculations for calibrations
  • ISI’s staff performs over 30 hours of training each year
  • ISI uses state-of-the-art equipment to insure reliable, accurate and repeatable service

So why use ISO17025 Accredited Calibration Services?  ISO17025 Accredited Calibration Service organizations offer the highest level of confidence that calibrations are accurate, repeatable, and trustworthy.  Organizations Accredited to ISO17025 are routinely audited by Accreditation Bodies to assure that the Service Organization is actively maintaining and operating in compliance with the requirements of ISO17025.  Using an Accredited Service Organization takes the burden of proof and compliance away from the operators and managers and puts the responsibility in the hands of the Service Organization and the Accreditation Body.  This is why ISI believes it is critical to operate and maintain ISI as an accredited organization to better serve our customers.
