Often time it’s what you don’t see
That shuts down your plant.

Thermography

One of the most powerful tools available to maintenance groups today is Thermographic Analysis, also called Infrared Inspection. Thermo graphic cameras detect radiation in the infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum (roughly 900–14,000 nanometers or 0.9–14 µm) and produce images of that emitted energy. Since infrared radiation is emitted by all objects based on their temperatures, according to the black body radiation law, thermography makes it possible to "visualize" the environment with or without visible illumination. The amount of radiation emitted by an object increases with temperature, therefore thermography allows one to see variations in temperature.

ISI’s certified Thermographers are NFPA 70E trained and qualified to perform inspection and analysis on all of your power systems, including:

  • Plant Incoming Power & Distribution Lines
  • Substations
  • Motor Control Centers
  • Transformers
  • Local Electrical Cabinets
  • Buss Systems
  • Motors

Additionally, Thermography can be used to troubleshoot or perform analysis on other systems where temperature gradients need to be evaluated, such as:
  • Building Envelope Moisture & Insulation Analysis
  • Furnace or Freezer Insulation failures
  • Process Operations and Performance Analysis
  • Reactor Analysis
  • Machine Tooling Stress
  • Steam Systems
  • And many more
